1. Introduction

Welcome to RoadConnect. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our services, website, and mobile application (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using RoadConnect, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.

2. Definitions

  • "Service" refers to the RoadConnect platform, including all features, content, and functionality.
  • "User" or "You" refers to any individual or entity that accesses or uses the Service.
  • "We", "Us", or "Our" refers to RoadConnect and its operators.
  • "Content" refers to all information, data, text, graphics, and other materials available through the Service.

3. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using RoadConnect, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and RoadConnect.

4. User Accounts

4.1 Account Creation

To use certain features of RoadConnect, you may be required to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password and for all activities that occur under your account. You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.

4.3 Account Deletion

Request Account Deletion from RoadConnect

You have the right to request deletion of your RoadConnect account and associated data at any time. RoadConnect provides an in-app account deletion feature, allowing you to delete your account directly from within the app. Additionally, we provide multiple other methods for account deletion requests as detailed below.

4.3.1 How to Request Account Deletion

RoadConnect provides multiple convenient ways for you to request deletion of your account and associated data. You can use any of the following methods:

  1. Account Deletion Form (Recommended): Fill out our official account deletion form to request account deletion. This form is associated with our developer account and ensures your request is properly processed. You will receive a confirmation notification once your request is received.

    Note: By providing this form link, RoadConnect demonstrates compliance with Google Play Store requirements. Your app listing will show: "The developer provides a way for you to request that your data be deleted."
  2. Through the RoadConnect App: Open the RoadConnect app, navigate to Settings → Account Settings → Delete Account, and follow the on-screen instructions. This feature allows you to delete your account directly from within the app.
  3. Via Email: Send an account deletion request to contact@roadconnect.app from your registered email address. Include your registered mobile number for verification purposes.
  4. Via Registered Mobile Number: Contact us at contact@roadconnect.app using your registered mobile number as the authorized identifier.
  5. Through In-App Support: Use the support feature within the RoadConnect app to submit an account deletion request.

4.3.2 Account Deletion Process

Upon receiving your account deletion request from an authorized identifier (your registered mobile number or email address), RoadConnect will process your request as follows:

  • Verification: We will verify your identity using your registered mobile number or email address.
  • Soft Deletion: Within 24 business hours of verification, your account will be "soft deleted" and deactivated. During this period, your account will be inaccessible.
  • Data Removal: After the soft deletion period, your account data will be permanently removed from our active databases.

4.3.3 Data That Will Be Deleted

When you request account deletion from RoadConnect, the following data associated with your account will be permanently deleted:

  • Your user profile information (name, email, phone number, profile picture)
  • Account credentials and authentication data
  • Ride history and transaction records
  • Saved addresses and location preferences
  • App preferences and settings
  • In-app messages and communications
  • Payment information (stored securely and separately)
  • Any other personal data associated with your RoadConnect account

Important:

RoadConnect ensures complete data deletion from our databases. All user data stored in our systems will be permanently removed upon account deletion.

4.3.4 Data Retention and Exceptions

Retention Period: RoadConnect will process your account deletion request within 24 business hours. After deletion, your data will be permanently removed from our active databases and cannot be recovered.

Legal and Regulatory Requirements: RoadConnect may retain certain data for longer periods if required by applicable laws, regulations, or legal obligations, including but not limited to:

  • Financial transaction records (as required by tax and accounting laws)
  • Data related to ongoing legal proceedings or disputes
  • Data required for compliance with law enforcement requests
  • Anonymized or aggregated data that does not identify you personally

Automatic Deletion: If you do not access the RoadConnect Service for a continuous period of 30 days, RoadConnect reserves the right to perform an automatic account deletion to ensure data hygiene.

Important Notice:

Once your RoadConnect account is deleted, all associated data will be permanently removed and cannot be recovered. Please ensure you have saved any important information, ride history, or transaction records before requesting account deletion. 5. Use of Service

5.1 Permitted Use

You may use RoadConnect for lawful purposes only and in accordance with these Terms. You agree to use the Service in a manner that does not violate any applicable laws or regulations.

5.2 Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law
  • Infringe upon the rights of others, including intellectual property rights
  • Transmit any harmful, offensive, or illegal content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
  • Impersonate any person or entity

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of RoadConnect, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, and software, are the exclusive property of RoadConnect or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any of the material on our Service without our prior written consent.

7. User Content

RoadConnect may allow you to post, upload, or submit content. By doing so, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute such content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to any content you submit and that such content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.

8. Privacy

Your use of RoadConnect is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

8.1 Location Data Policy

RoadConnect accesses and collects location data to provide core functionality of our Service, including but not limited to tracking, mapping, navigation, and route optimization features.

8.2 Use of Location Data

Location data is collected and used exclusively for the following purposes:

  • Providing real-time location tracking and mapping services
  • Enabling route planning and navigation features
  • Facilitating location-based service delivery
  • Improving the accuracy and functionality of our mapping system

8.3 Third-Party Services

RoadConnect utilizes Google Maps APIs for tracking and map system functions. When you use our Service, your location data may be processed by Google Maps services in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. However, RoadConnect does not share, sell, rent, or disclose your location data to any third parties for marketing, advertising, or any other commercial purposes.

8.4 Location Data Sharing

We do not share your location data with third parties. Your location information is used solely for the purpose of providing and improving our Service. The only exception is when location data is processed through Google Maps APIs, which is necessary for the core functionality of our mapping and tracking features. This processing is subject to Google's terms of service and privacy policy.

8.5 Location Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your location data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Location data is stored securely and accessed only by authorized personnel for the purposes stated in this policy.

8.6 Location Permissions

By using RoadConnect, you grant us permission to access your device's location services. You may revoke this permission at any time through your device settings; however, doing so may limit or disable certain features of the Service that require location data to function properly.

9. Payment Terms

If RoadConnect offers paid services, the following terms apply:

  • All fees are stated in the currency specified and are non-refundable unless otherwise stated
  • You agree to pay all charges associated with your account
  • We reserve the right to change our pricing with reasonable notice
  • Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of your account

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

RoadConnect does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information on the Service.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ROADCONNECT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RoadConnect, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

You may terminate your account at any time. For detailed information on how to delete your account, please refer to Section 4.3 (Account Deletion) above. You can delete your account through the app settings, by contacting us at contact@roadconnect.app, or by visiting our account deletion page.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in [Jurisdiction].

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and RoadConnect regarding the use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.

18. Data Retention and Deletion

RoadConnect maintains specific protocols for the removal of user data to protect your privacy and maintain system efficiency:

18.1 Soft Deletion

Upon receiving a formal deletion request from an authorized identifier (the registered mobile number), RoadConnect will "soft delete" the account within 24 business hours. During this period, the account will be deactivated and inaccessible to the user.

18.2 Hard Deletion (Inactivity)

To ensure data hygiene, if a user does not access the Service for a continuous period of 30 days, RoadConnect reserves the right to perform a "hard delete."

18.3 Effect of Hard Deletion

Once a hard delete is executed, the user's entire data set will be permanently removed from our active databases and cannot be recovered.

19. Child Safety Standards

19.1 Child Safety and CSAE Standards

RoadConnect is committed to maintaining a safe environment for all users and has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).

The RoadConnect app strictly prohibits the creation, upload, storage, sharing, promotion, or facilitation of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content or behavior involving the sexual exploitation or abuse of minors. Such activity is not permitted under any circumstances.

Any user found to be engaging in or attempting to engage in activities related to child sexual abuse or exploitation will face immediate enforcement action, including account suspension or permanent termination. Where required by law, RoadConnect will report such activity to relevant regional or national authorities.

RoadConnect complies with all applicable child protection laws and regulations and actively supports efforts to prevent child exploitation and abuse.

19.2 Reporting Child Safety Concerns

Users can report suspected child safety violations or inappropriate behavior directly within the RoadConnect app. All reports are reviewed promptly and handled with the highest priority.

If you encounter content or behavior that may violate child safety standards, please report it immediately using the in-app reporting tools.

19.3 Legal Compliance and Cooperation

RoadConnect cooperates fully with law enforcement and regulatory authorities in matters involving child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and child exploitation, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services or law enforcement authorities immediately.
